Germany is a tourist country of inexhaustible variety, with an ever changing pattern of scenery extending from the sea to the mountains, from the lowland regions along the Baltic and North Sea coasts by the way of rolling forest covered uplands to the Bavarian Alps. 

When?
The best time to visit Germany would be in summer, between the months of June and September. Another good time take a trip to Germany would be during Christmas. 

How to Reach
There are a large number of international airlines that have flights to Germany. Depending upon your place of departure, you can board any of these flights and come to this country. There are both direct flights as well as hopping flights to Germany.

Visa
A visa is required for visiting Germany, except for nationals from member countries of EU.

Currency
The currency of Germany is known as Deutsch Mark. Exchange facilities are available for all incoming and outgoing flights at all international airports in Australia. Changing foreign currency or traveler’s checks can be done quickly and efficiently at most banks. 

Things To Do in Germany

Munich 

The scenic city of Munich in Germany is also popularly known as the “village of one million”. Munich has its own charm being an old city of Germany and also the capital of Bavaria. This 800 year old city attracts tourists because of its natural beauty, city life, old and rich heritage and last but not the least Oktoberfest.

Marienplatz, Munich
This beautiful square in the heart of the Old Town is home to the town hall and its world-famous carillon (Glockenspiel), which has existed since 1908. The mechanical figures delight the audience on the square below by dancing to chimes at 11 am and midday throughout the year. During Spring and Summer there is an extra performance at 5 pm.

Dachau
Dachau is a tourist attraction Germany that is also one of the most visited spots by the tourists. One can catch a glimpse of the brutality that occurred in the place long ago. One can get guided tour in order to explore the place better. The concentration camps of Dachau are the most sought after tourist spots in Germany.

Frauenkirche
The church is huge but simple. Much of the original gothic interior has been destroyed or removed partially by contra-reformists. In the crypt, you will find the tombs of the Wittelsbach family.

Olympiapark
When the Olymiapark was planned for the XXth Olympic Games in 1972, the designers had the long-term needs in mind. In contrary to many olympic sites in other cities around the world, the different centers built for the olympics are still used and the Olympiapark has become one of Munich's major tourist attractions.

Residenz Palace
Munich’s Residenz Palace was the official home of Bavaria’s monarchs from 1385 to 1918. Its history is as complex as its architecture, but it’s definitely a must-see on your Munich itinerary.

Frankfurt

The best part of Frankfurt is that almost all the tourist attractions are located around the centre of the city.The landmarks stand as a symbol of the historical evidence of the two ferocious World Wars.

St. Bartholomew's Cathedral
This magnificent piece of architecture has its earliest origins from as far back as 680 AD, with its current form dating back to the 13th century. The cathedral is named after St. Bartholomew on account of it containing his skull, which was donated by the papacy and is available for viewing on Sundays, holidays and of course, on St. Bartholomew's Day itself.

Apple Wine Express
Known to locals as the Apfelwein Express, the Apple Wine Express is a traditional old-fashioned streetcar that tours the city, starting from Frankfurt Zoo and lasting about an hour in duration.

Main River Cruises
Visitors can take a standard one-hour cruise along the River Main, which passes many of the city's sights and gives a fresh perspective on its skyline and architecture.

Frankfurt Zoo 
Frankfurt Zoo is centrally located, making it an ideal first stop for a day out for families staying downtown. The zoo has an extensive collection of animals, including specimens from every continent on the planet.

Berlin

Brandenburg Gate
The Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor) is perhaps the best known landmark in Berlin Germany. The gate became a symbol of a divided world when the Berlin Wall was erected on August 13th, 1961. In 1987, President Ronald Regan delivered his now famous speech "Mr. Gorbachev - Tear down this wall!" at this site.

Tiergarten Park
Tiergarten Park is Berlin's most beautiful park and one of world's largest urban parks. Tourists to Berlin can enjoy Tiergarten's many lovely walking paths, forested areas, lakes and meadows. 

Konzerthaus
The Konzerthaus is one of Berlin's Concert Halls. Many visitors to Berlin Germany enjoy attending a symphony concert in the city that was home to so many great composers.

Kurfurstendamm
The Kurfurstendamm (also known as Ku'damm) is the main commercial street in the Chalottenburg district of Berlin. It offers many luxury hotels, shops, theatres, restaurants and other attractions.

Reichstag
The Reichstag is German's Parliament and home to the Bundestag since 1999. The building was originally built in 1894, however, the glass dome was added in recent years. Visitors to Berlin can enjoy a wonderful view of the city from the dome.

Schloss Bellevue
Schloss Bellevue was constructed in 1785 and is today the residence of the German President. During the Nazi era, Hitler used this palace for his Museum of Germany Ethnology.

Spree River
The Spree River is Berlin's equivalent to Paris's Seine River. The river originates on the Czech border and meanders through the city of Berlin. Tourists can enjoy a lovely ferry boat ride or cruise up the river.

Unter Den Linden
Unter Den Linden is the most famous boulevard in Berlin Germany. The street is named after the lime trees (Linden) that line the boulevard. Unter Den Linden stretches from the Brandenburg Gate in the west to the Schlossbrucke (Castle Bridge) in the east.

Cologne

Cologne Cathedral
The mighty cathedral towers in Cologne, Germany are just a stone's throw from the banks of the Rhine. Built over 600 years ago entirely in a high-Gothic style, it is Cologne's most famous landmark and an UNESCO World Heritage site. Its most sacred treasure is the Shrine of the Three Magi, a magnificent gilded sarcophagus thought to hold the remains of the Three Wise Men. More than 500 steps lead up the south tower, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city

Cologne Triangle Tower observation deck
Which is on the 29th floor of the building, is located directly opposite the Cologne Cathedral and the views are the best from the observation deck to the direction of the cathedral. A visit to this round, modern skyscraper is convenient to combine with eating out, as the skyscraper has two restaurants on the bottom floors, the l’Orange and the Mongo’s, which are also open to the visitors.

Römisch-Germanisches museum
The museum contains collections from the ancient Roman life, and it's highlights include especially the ancient Roman glass artworks, of which the museum houses the largest collection in the world.

Rheinseilbahn cable car over the Rhine
The Rheinseilbahn cable car route over the Rhine river is a way to see part of the most beautiful Cologne with the help of a cable car connection, which connects the two opposite river banks of the Rhine. On the cable car route you can see a beautiful Cologne city panorama, and the route is especially popular during romantic summer sunsets

Black Forest
The Black Forest, or Schwarzwald to give it its German name, is famous the world over. Deeply rooted in its traditional culture the Black Forest is an area of mountains, waterfalls and forest in the south west of Germany 125 miles long and up to 37 miles wide. This beautfully scenic region is home to the cuckoo clock and of course the delicious Black Forest Cake and is a paradise for hikers, skiers and spa lovers alike offering something for everyone.

Bavarian Alps
The Bavarian Alps in southern Germany is one of the country's most visited vacation regionsand one of the most beautiful places to visit in Germany. Picturesque villages, fairytale castles and crystal-clear lakes are set against the dramatic backdrop of snow-covered mountain peaks. In winter this area is a skier's paradise whilst in summer the lower mountain meadows are perfect to stroll or hike through.

Romantic Road
Romantic Road is a basically a 220 miles long winding road that starts from the scenic River Main in the North and proceeds towards the southern part of Alps across the picturesque countryside and cities.

Neuschwanstein Castle
Neuschwanstein Castle, the Sleeping Beauty Castle of Germany is widely acclaimed for its architectural excellence. To a tourist, the castle might look as something that has emerged straight out of the folktales and fairytales. Located within close proximity of the Austrian border, Neuschwanstein Castle happens to be one of the most visited castles in Europe.
